My dad used to say that a lot. Okay- really he still says it... but I mostly remember it from my childhood. See- during the winter, Salt Lake gets inundated with a lot of smoggy days and the inversion gets so bad you can't see the mountains or the sky for weeks at a time. It's kind of gross. But every once in a while- my dad would take us out of school and drive us up the mountain to the ski resort where the sun would be shining and the weather would be absolutely gorgeous- he called them blue bird days. And we would ski all day long. I loved it.
And apparently my dad is set on spoiling the next generation with blue bird ski days. We have had a really crappy inversion going on lately and he stole my boys and took them up skiing last Saturday. My sister went with and came home with some GORGEOUS pictures of the outside world.

The boys had so much fun!
