Several months ago my uncle Gary sent us home with a few boxes of old National Geographic Magazines that he collected over the years. He thought that they would be good for Ty to look through and play with. How wise that man has proven to be.
The weather up here has been crazy and it has been dumping rain for almost two weeks straight. Needless to say, my two year old is more than a
little stir crazy at this point and I think the four walls were starting to close in on him. So- in one of my more brilliant moments- I remembered the boxes of magazines stacked in a corner of our garage. I brought one in and pulled out all the art supplies that we had in the house; crayons, markers, glue, scissors, paint and construction paper-- and just let Ty have at it. I helped him go through the mgazines and find the pictures of the animals that he wanted to glue onto the paper. We only used one magazine- but it kept Ty entertained for over two hours. TWO HOURS!! That's almost an eternity in toddler time. And it was so nice that everything we needed was only an arms reach away- so the very pregnant mom didn't have to get up a zillion times.
Anyway- it was a very pleasant afternoon and Ty is already asking when we can do it again. THANKS UNCLE GARY!!! WE OWE YOU ONE!
