A Matter of Opinion
Andy Rooney can be kind of a dork at times, but every once in a while he hits on something that sounds just about right. I can't tell you when this was broadcasted- but I like it.
I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Ent ertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.
Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.
I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, which is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE ?
I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion.
I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.
When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling; it is the Law of Probability.
I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English! My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.
I think the police should have every right to shoot you if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or "stop" in English, see the above lines.
I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business. We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.
I don't hate the rich I don't pity the poor I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them.
I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.
It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say "NO!"
I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals.I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!
I am sick of "Political Correctness." I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa ; so how can they be "African-Americans"? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe I am proud to be from America and nowhere else

Out of the Mouth of Babes...
he is now- it's crazy to look at these old pictures and to look at how much he has grown and developed. Yes this is a nostalgic post. It really hit me today that we are going to have another kid. A little late, I know- but all of a sudden we're this family. It's wierd. Anyway, Ty is such an imp lately and literally has diahrea of the mouth. There hasn't been a quiet day in our house for months. And that's okay, because for the most part- he keeps us laughing. Case in point:
Ty was having a much needed haircut a few weeks ago. His hair was shaggy long and had these wierd divots in it- so I thought I would just shave it all off and start from scratch. I pulled out the clippers and cut his hair. Ty doesn't mind because he thinks it tickles- so he just giggled all the way through his trim. Once I finished, I swept up his hair and put it all in the trash. Then I showed Ty the garbage and told him that all his hair was in there. He looked at the hair for a minute then took my hand and led me into the bathroom. He asked me to hold him up to the mirror, so I did, knowing that he just wanted to have a look at his hair. Ty looked in the mirror for a second then said "Put me down." So I did then followed him back into the kitchen where he pulled out the garbage and pointed to his hair, "Mama, put my hair back on now." Whoops. It was so funny though that he would put it all together.
Anyway, I'm hoping to stay more on track with the blogging thing and keep you up to date on what else the little chatterbox has to say. I'm finally starting to feel a little bit better now so hopefully it should happen!

President's Day Weekend

ot to go sledding with grandpa, uncle Dave and aunt Nat. The roads up there are kind of steep so the ride is really fun. Ty went down with Dave and yelled back at him "This is fun!" It's probably a good thing that they never went down in a blaze of glory because I think all the "fun" would have gone out the window. Posted by The Kidds at 7:13 PM 0 comments

And the Winner Is....
I win. I win. I win. I win. I win. Picture me doing a victory dance on my kitchen table. I win. I made dinner today- and not only did Shaun think it was yummy- but so did Ty. In fact- the little stinker asked for thirds!!! I think this is the first dinner in a very long time that there were no tears at the dinner table. No bribes. No threats. No food flinging. Just happy munching noises. So in celebration of my much anticpated victory (I've been trying ever since Ty started on solid foods to find something that we could all happily eat together), I am going to share my secret with all of you, in hopes that you find a similar success with your own family (also- I am going to make a plea for any and all kid-friendly meals that we could also try- this was after all, only one meal, and while good- I am not eating it everyday).

Deja Vu?
Okay. I'm so having a deja vu moment here. About three years ago I went to the doctor and he told me that I was pregnant, I would be having a baby at the end of July and that we conceived somewhere around Halloween. This last Wednesday- I went to the doctor, he told me I was pregnant, that I would be having a baby at the end of July and that we conceived somewhere around Halloween. How crazy is that?! Unbelievable to me. So- if Shaun is spending the month of October with you guys next year- you'll know why. Anyway- we're way excited and we're attempting to get Ty there too. I don't think he really understands though. But he is cute- we'll ask him what his special secret is- and he'll lean over and whisper "baby." I know we're only like a minute pregnant- but we're excited and wanted to share the news!
Also- for any of you bargain hunters out there- I just got some coupons in the mail and thought maybe with Christmas coming and whatnot that the codes would be helpful to you too!
I got one from Gymb oree that is 20% off good until December 24. Coupon code: 420102480803
And then I also got one for Macys (also 20% off) that is good until December 3. Coupon Code: MACYSFF

The Cozy Coupe
Okay- so Ty hasn't handled the move very well. He is tired, cranky and honestly more than a little bit of a pill. We're all adjusting though right? I have tried to keep Ty busy so that his spontaneous tears are kind of kept at bay. In an effort to help hold back the torrential alligator tears, my mom bought Ty a new car that he can ride around in outside in the yard. This was the original plan, but Ty loved riding around the house so much, that we have actually ended up keeping it inside. Ty likes to have his afternoon snack in it while he watches Elmo. It's kind of dopey- but definitely cute, and I thought you would all enjoy the picture!

MIA? No way!!
Hi everyone (okay- the word "everyone" might be a little strong since there are like three people that read this)! I know we've kind of been gone for a while- but all for good reason! Shaun got a job a few days after we got back from California and it has been a whirlwind ever since. Shaun interviewed for a position as a PE/Health teacher for the elementary school in Montpelier, Idaho and they offered him the job on the spot. Problem was- school started in a week and a half so it was "go time" for us when we made it back to Boise. We had everything packed in two days and then we were off.
We have been staying at my parents cabin in Garden City (Bear Lake) which is about 45 minutes from Montpelier- but it has been great! Finding a rental in Montpelier is like finding a parking place at the mall during December. They are almost non-existant and the ones that you do find have been totally trashed. We looked for a while- but decided it was time to call in the big guns... we called a realtor and a mortgage company... and we close on the most beautiful little house in a week!! Yay! (I can't find my cord to hook up the camera so you don't get any pictures unless you visit this link... http://www.bearlakerealty.com/residential.php?state=Idaho&city=Montpelier&home_id=552) We are so excited and things have been going really well. The people here are incredible and so nice. Everywhere we turn there are people calling us and making sure that we don't need anything. We even had one lady send us home with a carton full of farm fresh eggs. I haven't used them yet- they still have chicken poop on them and that's almost too fresh for me.
Anyway- like I said- at the moment we are living in a log cabin and have no internet access- so this is my first chance to give a shout out to you all. Hope it doesn't go so long next time!

Sunny California!!
Hey everybody! I know that all of you are avid readers of our blog and have been eagerly anticipating a post that just hasn't come. It is not just because I am lazy, but rather- I have been on a much needed vacation!! But we're home now and it's back to sanity. For those of you still in the dark- Shaun, Ty and I spent a week in Southern California with my family playing on the beach. I have pictures, and I think it's going to either be a long blog, or a long list of blogs since I can't make my pictures all cute like Janae can (you'll have to tell me your secret later Janae!).
